All Is Set For Copa Nissan: Club América vs. Tigres UANL March 26th

There will be a Soccer Festival starting at 12:00 pm

HOUSTON (Wednesday, March 23rd, 2016) – There are only few days left until the awaited Copa Nissan match-up featuring Club América and Tigres UANL taking place this Saturday, March 26, at BBVA Compass Stadium starting at 3:00 p.m. (CST).

Club América, the current CONCACAF Champions League Champion, head into the match at the top of Liga MX and face Tigres UANL, the defending champion of Liga MX, that follows them closely in the standings. Last month, Tigres won over América by the score of 4-1, so a vibrant rematch is expected. In addition, both teams played their first matches of CONCACAF Champions League 2016 Semifinals last week, and this match could well be a preview of the Final.

As part of Copa Nissan weekend, a press conference is scheduled with players from both clubs, which will take place at 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 25 at the Westin Galleria Houston. Accreditations for media that are not already accredited with the Houston Dynamo will be available for pick-up at that time. There will also be appetizers and drinks for the press.

On game day, fans of both clubs will come from all corners of Texas to support their respective teams, and starting 12:00 p.m. fans will enjoy a “Soccer Festival” with music, food, entertainment, and interactive activations by the sponsors. The festival will take place on Rusk Street, right outside of BBVA Compass Stadium.

During halftime, a special recognition to Claudio Suarez is scheduled commemorating his outstanding football career. The former footballer of Pumas, Guadalajara, Tigres in the Liga MX and Chivas USA in MLS is the player with the most appearances for the Mexican National Soccer team (178 games between 1996 and 2006).
